LASER LABELS for laser printers, ink-jet printers and copiers.
Strong business with the ROLACUT-45 Laser Label Converter.

Automation offers the ROLACUT-45 as a dedicated, professional system for A4-office
labels, roll to sheet, counted, jogged, stacked for in-line wrapping or boxing.
The label line is available with one or two offset units and turn bars for backside or
front side printing. The ROLACUT-45 Converter produces double stream for a web
width of 44 cm, 2 x A4 side by side plus 2 x 10 mm trim. The sheeter features a
magnetic die cut cylinder and a separate blade cylinder, both against the common
anvil cylinder to ensure most reliable CUT- to DIE-CUT REGISTER.

1. LASER LABELS HAVE BEATEN ZIG-ZAG PIN-FEED LABELS.
Many years ago blank labels with pinfeed were important business for forms printers
and label printers. Through the ninetees adhesive labels were mostly produced with
line holes, zigzag folded to be imaged by matrix printers in offices and shipping
departments. With the advent of page printers (laser, ink-jet and copiers) adhesive
labels in 40 to 60 shapes emerged on DIN A4 support and contribute increasingly to
the efficiency in many offices.
With the eclipse of matrix printers, zigzag adhesive labels are disappearing. Some
large (international) producers as well as smaller label printers have sensed the new
opportunity and concentrate on this business. Other label printers supply DIN A4
labels to sheet fed printers for the regional demand of labels, imprinted with logo
and address.

2. TYPES OF FLAT OFFICE LABELS.
Offices all over the world are detecting the benefit of the many advantages of digital
page printers and are using more and more adhesive laser labels for many applications.
This commodity is offered as follows:
♦ A4-Office labels printed on the back with a logo (market share approx. 50 %),
♦ A4-Office labels tinted on the front side (market share approx. 5 %),
♦ A4-Office labels without any printing (market share approx. 40 %),
♦ Office labels in other versions, A4, A5, A6, A7(market share approx. 5 %).

HOW ARE LASER LABELS WRAPPED and PACKAGED?
  • packs of 50 and 100 in printed boxes,
  • packs of 100, 250 or 500 in film,
  • packs of 250 and 500 in grey boxes,
  • in packs of 10, 20, 25 or 50 sheets as offered in mail order catalogues and by office
stores like Staples, Office Depot, Office Centre or in supermarkets. These packs are
often in lid-and-bottom BOXES, in carton POCKETS or WALLETS, sometimes in film
pockets, mostly with a hanger hole for point-of-sale display.
  • 3. The ROLACUT-45 of AUTOMATION for A4 LASER LABELS.
Automation offers a professional system for A4 office labels, roll to sheet, counted,
jogged, stacked for in-line wrapping and/or boxing.
The label line is available with one or two flexo units and turn bars for back-side printing.
The ROLACUT-45 produces double stream at a max. web width of 45 cm for 2x A4 side
by side. The sheeter has a magnetic die-cut cylinder and a separate blade-cylinder, both
against the common anvil cylinder to ensure highest cut- to die-cut register.

    4. SOPHISTICATED MATRIX REWIND for LASER LABELS,
    1 mm SAFETY EDGE.

Most professional producers offer A4 laser labels with safety edge to prevent trouble
of bleeding glue and to avoid jams in the page printer. The 2mm ladder of the rewound
matrix is very fragile. Therefore the ROLACUT-45 is uniquely equipped with a special
matrix rewind for high speed and large diameter rolls.
This matrix rewind system allows easily run speeds of 100 to 130 meters/minute double
stream. Without 1 mm safety boarder the ROLACUT runs up to 200 meters per minute.
In view of the danger of breaking the fragile matrix, production in DOUBLE STREAM
is always recommended because of shorter, hence stronger ladders across and more speed.
The across ladder has 2 mm body to provide for just 1 mm at top and tail of each sheet.
The safety edge at the long edges is equaly 1 mm.

    5. OTHER APPLICATIONS of the ROLACUT-45-LABEL-LINE.
Label printers are using this machine also for other types of office labels.
A popular product is the postage stamp strip. Numerous offices are now using postage
machines, often with DIN A7+ labels to print the postage, especially for bulky envelopes.
Millions of adhesive postage labels are consumed daily.
Also office labels in DIN A5 are used on office page printers.
This size is equally produced on the ROLACUT-45 Converter.

    6. BC35-STACKER for EXACT COUNT and STRAIGHT BATCHES.
The BC35-Compact Stacker is especially designed for adhesive labels as in-line operation
to the ROLACUT-45 Label Line. The maximum stack height is 5 cm, (option 12 cm).
For packs of 500, two stacks of 250 are taken at the delivery and boxed.
The cycle speed of the BC35 is up to 15 per minute, important for industrial in-line
    performance and high efficiency.
The BC35 Stacker can be connected to a wrapper. The type of wrapper is chosen for the
required speed, the thickness of the packs and presentation. The model BC35-A Stacker
is designed to feed the packs directly into the 'BOXER' II, followed by the optional labeller.

    7. OPTIONS for the ROLACUT-45 LABEL LINE.
Automation GmbH offers a choice of options to boost the performance of the ROLACUT-45.
Flying unwind splicer, Matrix exhaust instead of matrix rewind, Stackers for 12 cm stack
height, Inserter for cardboard or paper sheets, size change cylinders for additional
    cut-off lengths, boxing packs of 50 or 100 sheets, 2 x 90° conveyor to a wrapper, etc.

    8. MARKETING.
The ROLACUT LABEL LINE replies to a rapidly increasing demand for adhesive office labels
to be imaged on page printers. Label printers and forms printers are the main players
in this new and important market segment. Office labels are a world-wide growth product
for many professional applications, as well as for home use (CD-labels, address labels,
stick-on photos, etc.). Many channels are available to bring stationery labels to the end
users and many chances are open to profitable business on this new market.
